Topics included

This session focuses on developing decision support systems to aid fire management in the eastern states. This will include systems for scheduling of fire fighting resources as well as making decisions on long-term ecological management. It will explore data and system integration, databases and middle-ware, distributed systems, geographic information systems, information collection and retrieval, and expert systems that either exist or might be developed to aid wildland fire management. Additionally, the session will address issues of information collection and retrieval, integration of remotely sensed and ground-based monitoring, and data mining for wildland fires.
