Partners projects are limited to one year in length and funding requests of $15,000. Proposals can be submitted any time if money is available and are reviewed by NOAA and COMET staff as they are received.
Cooperative projects are usually 1-2 years in length, with an average award of about $35,000 per year. Cooperative project proposals can only be submitted in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) and are reviewed by a panel of experts.
COMET and NOAA’s National Water Center (NWC) currently are requesting Cooperative Project proposals for hydrology-related projects. Cooperative Projects are generally broad collaborative research efforts that may include activities such as technique development, applications research, and/or transfer from research to operations. Proposals must be for 1-year projects with a maximum budget of $40,000 and are reviewed by a panel of experts.
